| Traditional Departure Photo |
I wish I had something more exciting to report about our trip today, but the truth is this was just seven straight hours of driving from our house to Columbus. I have made this trip about 100 times by now and so it is very routine and nothing to see that we haven’t already seen. Thanks goodness for XM radio and audiobooks. We are about halfway through
The Girl on the Train.

| German Food |
One nice thing about traveling is that you get to try food from different areas of the country. Like a lot of Midwestern cities, Columbus still has a strong German heritage and a section of town called "German Village." So to take advantage of the culture, we had dinner at the Columbus Hofbräuhaus, complete with a German band. Also I figure if you can’t show scenery, show food porn. Knusprige Schweinehaxen for me (similar to a ham hock) and Heidelberger Rahm Spätzle for Jeanne (similar to chicken and dumplings). I have never seen Schweinehaxen outside of Germany so it was a treat for me, but the portions were so large that we didn't come close to finishing the meal.
